I need books! Empty
PostSubject: I need books!   I need books! EmptyFri Aug 03, 2012 3:37 pm

So, I'm more than a bit of a bookworm. I mostly read young adult books, but I'm open to suggestions. Really, I'd love some more books and series for me to get into. c:

Here are some suggestions for you if you are looking for anything good to read. If it has (series) after it, then it is the first book of the series. Some of them are just authors since I love all their books. Then there are a couple listed as (children's books), which are obviously more geared toward kids, but are still pretty good reads if you have some time.

Absolute Favorites
City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (series)
Uglies by by Scott Westerfeld (series)
Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick (series)
Fallen by Lauren Kate (series)
Night World by L.J. Smith (series)
Tamora Pierce is my very favorite author
Ellen Hopkins is a /great/ writer. A bit on the darker side too.
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer (sereis) - The first 5 are best xP
Matched by Ally Condie (series)
The Naming by Alison Croggon (series)
Copper Sun by Sharon Draper
Eon by Alison Goodman (series)
Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes
Jack London's books
The Giver by Lois Lowry (series)
The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
The Merchant of Death by D. J. MacHale (series - Pendragon Series)
Eragon by Christopher Paolini (series)
Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen
Divergent by Veronica Roth (series)
I am the Great Horse by Katherine Roberts (children's book)
Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz (series)
Sweep by Cate Tiernan (Amazing Wicca series)

Still Really Good
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray (series)
So Yesterday by Scott Westerfeld
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins (series)
Time Cat by Lloyd Alexander (children's book)
Marked by P. C. Cast and Kristin Cast (series)
Angel on Skis by by Betty Cavanna
The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima
The Supernaturalist by Eoin Colfer
The Warriors books of course for kids books by Erin Hunter (starts with 'Into the Wild')
Ursula K LeGuin is a good author

Dude, I've read a ton of those books and I may be able to help.

If you're into a few different series, check out a few by Lynne Ewing, I suggest The Daughters of the Moon, Sisters of Isis, and I think the other one is called Sons of Dark.

If you're into another Wicca related series you should try out The Secret Circle by L.J. Smith.

If you like James Patterson I recommend pretty much anything by him, including Daniel X, though it leans into the children book area, Maximum Ride, an Adult series is Alex Cross.

Another good Author with a few different series, Sci-Fi, Fiction, Fantasy, and Horor, is Darren Shan.

Hope I was able to help. :3

Have you heard of/tried the Shiver trilogy by Maggie Stiefvater? It's more for teenagers, but I really liked them regardless.

If you're looking for something that's really long and really pulls you in, try the Wheel of Time series, they're really amazing, but incredibly long.
